SPACE 2025 in France: Focus on the OMELETTE conference
During SPACE (livestock production show - européen crossroad) the Brittany Chamber of Agriculture, ANSES and INNOZH held a conference on the initial results of the OMELETTE project : Removing barriers to extending the laying cycles of laying hens.
The OMELETTE conference attracted 50 people, including a diverse panel representing the entire sector.
The successive presentations began by presenting the results of studies conducted by the Brittany Chamber of Agriculture, INNOZH and Pehestat among stakeholders in the laying hen industry in France and Belgium. The panel included laying hen and pullet farmers, equipment manufacturers, animal feed companies, veterinarians and genetics specialists.
In the second part of the session, the firts experimental results from ANSES ans the Experimental Poultry Center (EPC) were presented. The conference concluded with a presentation of the next stages of the project: testing the longevity extension plan on commercial farms!
The conference ended with interesting discussions between the various stakeholders present in the room at the end.
