Extend the longevity of your laying hens with the support of Pehestat, Chambres d’Agriculture France & Experimental Poultry Centre
Are you a laying hen farmer looking to improve the longevity and performance of your flocks? Join the OMELETTE project, a European partnership involving Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and France!
🐔 Why participate?
To reflect on your practices by comparing them with those of farmers in other European countries and with experimental results.
To benefit from personalized support based on performance, health, and animal welfare indicators.
To better understand and anticipate the needs of your animals.
🔍 How does it work?
An initial meeting to discuss your current practices and results.
A tailored action plan developed collaboratively with your technical partners, drawing on European feedback and experiences.
Ongoing support throughout the flock cycle: farm visits, performance tracking, practical advice… everything is in place to help you reach your longevity goals.
✅ Who can apply?
You are a laying hen farmer in The Netherlands, France or Belgium and you:
Want to extend the productive lifespan of your flocks
Are open to questioning and improving your current practices
Raise hens in enriched cages (code 3), aviary systems (code 2), free-range systems (code 1) or organic system (code 0)
Will start a new flock between September 2025 and April 2026
Agree to share your production data with the project partners
Allow regular follow-up visits in your barn
Record your production data daily (at minimum: egg count by category, water and feed consumption, mortality)
