Vencomatic Group & the OMELETTE Project: Enhancing Hen Longevity through Data and Collaboration

Vencomatic Group proudly participates in the OMELETTE project, a multidisciplinary initiative aimed at optimising and extending hen longevity. This goal requires a holistic approach, where multiple factors—such as housing systems, lighting, and data—must be aligned and functioning optimally.

As a company, we maintain close contact with poultry farmers to gather feedback on our systems and support them in achieving the best possible results. One of our key innovations in this area is Meggsius Connect, a smart data platform that collects and visualises valuable information from the poultry house. This includes early indicators of potential issues, such as areas in the nest where no eggs are being laid or deviations in egg weight.

Within the project, OMELETTE partner Pehestat and our poultry specialists actively follow up five selected farms that use Meggsius Connect intensively. With these farms, we have monthly contact moments, which include:

  • Data reviews and trend analysis, to detect patterns and anomalies before they manifest as visible problems in the house.
  • Discussions with farmers and veterinarians, via Teams, phone calls, and on-site visits, to interpret findings and adjust management strategies.
  • Monitoring of system usage, to understand how Meggsius Connect fits into daily operations and where improvements can be made.

With this pilot farms we are also continuously working on the further development of Meggsius Connect. This includes:

  • Improving user-friendliness, based on direct feedback
  • Discussing practical experiences to identify what works well and where adjustments are needed.
  • Integrating feedback into product updates to ensure the system remains relevant, intuitive, and effective.

In the coming months, we will continue to closely follow the pilot farms, maintaining regular monthly contact. Our goal is to gain valuable insights and ensure that Meggsius Connect can be used in a truly meaningful way for all parties involved—supporting both farm management and hen longevity.
